Solomon (Hebrew: שְׁלֹמֹה‎, Šlōmō, Šǝlōmō, ISO 259-3: Šəlōmōh), also called Jedidiah (יְדִידְיָהּ‎, Yǝḏīḏǝyāh), was king of the United Kingdom of Israel, according to the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament; he was a son of David as well as his successor. The conventional dates of Solomon's reign are set at 970–931 BCE, normally given in alignment with the dates of David's reign.
