Jennifer “Gemma” Jones (born 4 December 1942) is an English character actress on both stage and screen. Her film appearances include On the Black Hill (1987), Sense and Sensibility (1995), Wilde (1997), The Theory of Flight (1998), The Winslow Boy (1999), Bridget Jones's Diary (2001), the Harry Potter series (2002–2011), The Kiss of Life (2003), Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004), Fragile (2005), Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010), Hysteria (2011), Bridget Jones's Baby (2016), God's Own Country (2017) and Ammonite (2020). For her role in the BBC television film Marvellous (2014), she won the 2015 BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress.
